Chirakmana Depths
Blown glass with phosphorescent pigment
Inspired by the waters surrounding Chirakmana Cape, Chirakmana Depths captures the quiet tension of being suspended underwater, in that moment when silence, light, and breath converge. The glass’s fluid blue and green hues evoke the shifting tones of the sea, while bubbles rise as traces of air, moving toward an unseen surface. Within this space, stillness and motion coexist, creating a sense of peace filled with the subtle pulse of life pressing to return.
Infused with phosphorescent pigment, the piece absorbs light during the day and releases a soft glow in the dark, echoing the gentle luminescence found beneath the waves. The circular, open form suggests both a portal and a held breath, a meditation on the fragile boundary between immersion and emergence, freedom and constraint.
Chirakmana Depths reflects on the sensations of swimming underwater, where the body feels both weightless and aware of the pressure surrounding it. It invites contemplation of how water transforms perception, turning body, light, and sound into a single moment of stillness and awareness.
